The reeves & mayors of Welland

Written by WPL's local history specialist, this exhibit will feature biographies of each of Welland's chief magistrates (reeves & mayors), from 1858 to the current day.

They include reeves from when Welland was a village between 1858 to 1877, mayors from when Welland was a town between 1878 to 1916, and mayors from when Welland was a city between 1917 to today.

There have been fifty individuals so far who have been afforded the high honour of acting as chief magistrate for the municipality.
